Follow this guide and fill in the blanks to create a solid plan for what you will do when a bad mood hits. First start with a commitment to awareness; How will you know that you are in a mental health “sick day”? What are some signs and symptoms to look for? Commit to looking for these, and then when you recognize them, commit to putting your plan into action!

What is A Bad Mood Action Plan?
In medicine, when you have a chronic illness, your doctor will work with you to create a stick day plan. Sick days are events that disrupt your ability to take care of yourself as well as you usually do. Action plans remind us of what we should be doing to keep healthy even on hard days.
If you think of poor mental health as an illness and you recognize that you struggle with low days, you may benefit from making a bad mood (mental health sick day) action plan.
